Fattigmandssølv MADONNA [H-19 cm]

 Antik madonnafigur i fattigmandssølv. I bunden er hullet, hvor kviksølvet blev hældt i. Ofte er hullerne lukket med en forsegling. En meget smuk figur med patina.

Fattigmandssølvet blev lavet i det 19. århundrede som en erstatning til folket, istedet for det rigtige sølv, der var meget dyrere. Ofte blev det brugt som bryllupsgaver.

The Poor man's silver was made in the 19th century as a substitute for the people, instead of the real silver, that was very expensive. Often it was used as wedding gifts.
